There has never been a more crucial time in our lives. A few short years ago Covid disrupted our economy, as well as our lives, and our photography businesses.  As small business owners, photographers around the globe were all sitting around wondering if they would survive. Being a photography business coach, I was growing concerned for many photographers and for the portrait photography business in general. Photography businesses were struggling with safety concerns, Covid regulations, lack of customers and lack of consumer confidence.  We had a choice in front of us. Either go into submit to the way things are, or, look for opportunity to grow. Not to let fear of failure cripple our business. Being a photography business coach, I looked for opportunities to grow my client’s photography businesses. Opportunity to change. Opportunity to rebuild business. Opportunity to redefine the customer experience. Opportunity to win new customers. Opportunity for a new and exciting product offering, etc. I had to rethink how photographers do business. I had to rethink where customers were coming from. This required a more optimistic and more aggressive approach. No one is going to hand this to you I thought. You have to get up and GRAB IT!

It Worked!

I have always had a motto of “fail fast” and I know mistakes are part of the equation, they are inevitable. But if you can fail fast and learn from it, you start to realize that failure is part of the equation for success. Over time, you will use that fear to your advantage and it will help you make better decisions and make fewer mistakes. This attitude was the path forward and over the two long years of Covid I grew four photographers to million-dollar turnovers in their photography businesses.
